ST. LOUIS CARDINALS WON THE WORLD SERIES!!!
YAH YAH YAH!!!!
Halloween HiJinks
Wow...what a weekend.
Let's see...Saturday we did some things around the house, went to the mailbox - yippee, my TAC order came in!!!
Then to pick up Lisa D - go to the food store and get some goodies and drinks...
And onwards to Tom Y and Larry S's home for a blast!
It was the 4th Annual Halloween Party at their Haunted Garage!!! OOOOOHHHH!!!
I was dressed as Lady Goth and Reb was the Motorcycle Angel... had cool black wings on her leather jacket...

Almost everyone else there were dressed in costumes, too...cool looking costumes!!!
My "sista", Chrys, and her partner, Rob, were there too... Chrys was Goth Girl and Rob was, I would call, a No-Brainer...smiles.

Lisa went as herself...tsk tsk.

Tom Y and Larry looked cool as Gandalf and Dog, Bounty Hunter.

A couple friends came from Columbia, too...and it was great seeing them, and enjoyed picking on them. Here's TBoyz, as Clark Gable.

The food was good as usual, and we had a costume contest...and the biggest surprise...I won 1st place!!! I got a BBQ basket with charcoal, BBQ tools, an apron, spices and sauces... wowza!
Tom Y won 2nd place as Gandalf - he got an entertainment center.
then...Reb won 3rd place!! She got two holographic parrots, with lights. They will look great in the basement!!
What an evening...
We dropped Lisa off home the same night - we had plans the next day.
Sunday, we went to Reb's parents' home for lunch - had a nice grilled steak...and CHOCOLATE CREAM PIE!!!
OOOH, what stuff dreams are made of...
Blackie ~ Halloween Cat?
I was looking under the stove for a pill that got lost and managed to
dig out a spider... a big, black, and UGLY spider. Luckily, it was
plastic. Sure gave myself a little scare.
Now Blackie is in love with it. He's playing with it!!!
Hoo boy. If it goes back under the stove, I ain't digging it out.
Finally...
Finally... after three long years, it's all over. The members have
voted, and I have been released from my long banishment. It feels so
good that is all done, although I'm a bit sad that it had to take so
long.
I will be relieved when I see my name removed from both websites and so
many wants me back, especially as Secretary.
As for coaching, I don't think I will ever go back to that, not for a
long time. I still have to get over the mental scars I suffered from
that year...
Right now, I'm just glad it's over.
Oh Boy...
I hate it when I have migraine headaches...I'm just totally miserable, I can't function... I just have to go back to sleep and sleep it off.
Had to take Wednesday off for that - which means another 8 hours lost. GRRRR.
Been Busy ... As Usual
Last Friday, I met up with Lisa D at home after getting a few things done... she stayed over the whole weekend again.
We talked a bit and got the folders ready for the workshop on Sunday, got all 30 done. That night, I did all the cutting of the papers that were to be used - whew!!
Saturday, I took it a bit easy - wasn't able to sleep after the cats chased me outta the bed...so went to watch a bit of TV and read a bit... then we all left the house to get a light dinner, do some shopping - Reb and I got our Halloween outfits, too!!!
Then on to Patti's home for her SU demonstration with Jenifer B - met up with Cass, Mary M, Darlene and Alonda - great crowd, great laughs!
Home late - and to bed.
Sunday...whew. Had my workshop with Lynne as the hostess, had 16 people come... and the total amount is still climbing from all the orders! Just one more, and then it's all done. I had three projects and a 10-minute presentation of TAC - and I think it went over well... got everything done, got it all cleaned up and dropped Lisa off, then out to dinner with Reb.
Then the unpacking and cleaning up --- I was appalled to see that one of the samples, which was my very best, had been subsituted for another person's card... and it was all too evident that it wasn't mine. Oh well... I told Jenifer B what happened, and we agreed to start putting our names and information on the backs from now on. I think I will also put pockets on the box tops and slide the card in there so it can't be taken away...
Oh well. Nothing I can do now.
And that was the weekend for me...heh heh.
Mobile Blogging Set up!
Testing ...
Finally! My mobile blogging is set up!!!
Heh heh... Now I can blog anywhere, any time I wanna!!
Today is Friday...
Been reading the news about the Amish schoolhouse shootings - it's such a sad story. Six girls, not even teenagers, all dead. All because of one crazed guy that decided to go off on a rampage.
I also feel bad for the guy's wife and children - they will probably have to move out of town in order to get out from the watchful eyes of the community.
Today is Friday!
This weekend - BUSY! Tonight I gotta get the folders ready, the cards made for gifts, and tomorrow morning is the cutting and sorting...URGH.
Tomorrow night is Patty's party - yay!
Then Sunday....EEK!
Forgot One Thing, BUT What An Impression!
Yesterday, I was checking my dailies, and I went on to DTWOF - yahoo! A new strip!
However, this one was really sad...Mo lost her Siamese cat, Vanessa - in the last panel, she's kneeling over Vanessa's body and Sydney is comforting her...in the foreground is a shadowy cat - this one was Virginia... she had been bothering Mo and Sydney in bed, and Sydney had to get up, and discovered Vanessa lying in the kitchen. I had more sympathy and tears for that shadowy cat... Virginia had been with Vanessa, she had known her all her life, knew something was wrong with Vanessa. Now she's alone, while the two women are in the kitchen.
I know that Virginia was grieving in her own way.

Hello Again...
Last weekend was kinda like 50/50.
Friday night, did a few swaps - I think 3 ATCs, 2 cards and 1 8x8.
Saturday morning, I had to go to the DMV to get my handicap tags and spent almost a hour in line...UGH. At least I got to talk to Buzz at the end - he came in as I was nearly at the counter. Off to the Post Office I went, got the Express out and more stamps in my sweaty little hand... and off to Deals I went - got some cleaning supplies and odds&ends. Back the same way I went, took Gift to Valvoline...for her oil change, check under the hood. Back the same way, still continuing on my long way - stopped at Walgreens to pick up my medications, and then to the UPS Store...shoot, no mail!
We stayed home Saturday afternoon waiting for the idiotic internet tech, and he never did show up. I went on the sidekick relay to call Charter and I was getting more and more frustrated because of the automated call system, and that I kept fading in and out on the signal...GRRRR.
Anyway, as we arrived at Weber's Front Row Grill for the ASL Dinner, I finally got the freakin' answer... they cancelled the appointment, because they called the day before and no one answered...OH PLEASE. They were on the no-call appointment for us, because we're deaf...DUH. Anyway, they will be coming tomorrow to fix BOTH the cable AND the internet. If they don't show up...don't even think about crossing paths with me for a while.
Anyway, as I got to Weber's, some of them thought I wasn't pleased to see them - on the contrary, I was pleased to see such a large crowd - I was just plain out and out frustrated with Charter.
However, we weren't very pleased with another person there - she MONOPOLIZED the whole evening, and was rather demanding that the students pay attention to her the whole dinner. Reb and I didn't get much of a chance to talk to them - every time we tried to talk to a student, the woman would wave and make a fuss until the student turned around and paid attention to her.
Oh well.
At least I made them aware that Reb was the founder and planner of the ASL Dinners in St. Louis, not that woman, as many of them thought. We were pleased about one thing, however. One of the student interpreters knew us, and wanted to know why we had to sit all the way down at the other end, even requested that we move up - of course, the woman wouldn't hear of it. We just stayed down where we were, and I tried to make the father of one of the students more comfortable - everyone completeley ignored him, even his own daughter...he was soo much out of place and looked so uncomfortable.
That evening, we went to Steph R's home for a Party Gals party - Tania H was there!! She did have a party at my parents' home a couple years ago, when my parents were not supposed to be home LATE with my aunt...grr...they decided to come home EARLY.
It was great seeing Tania, Steph R, Jaime, Karen F, Laura L, Jen B and her friend, Christina again.
Sunday - Reb had to work, so I stayed home and did laundry, cleaned out four boxes, threw out two full boxes of junk - no, nothing valuable, sorry, and did several swaps - then came upstairs, cooked dinner for both Reb and me... then I ironed, while we watched SCARY MOVIE 4 - then off to bed, where we watched RV and finally fell asleep.
As for last night - we didn't go to bed until around 1:30 p.m.... I had 9 swaps done - thank goodness, Reb came home and was able to help out - she filled out the ATC backs, and then taped them on the back of the ATCs and got half of them ready for mailing today...thank goodness for Reb!
Now I'm at work, not really eager to work...but someone gotta do the dirty job.
