What a Shock...

PeeWee and Blackie SLEEPING AND LAYING TOGETHER ON THE BED???? I gotta
be dreaming...!
Just Glad...
I'm just glad that the basement is finally finished. I put away the last of the stuff, vacuumed the whole basement, and sorted the catalogs. Now I intend to recycle all the magazines, catalogs and empty boxes... whew.
We were also able to get rid of all the paint cans and tar buckets Saturday ~ St. Louis had a household chemical recycling location at Florissant Valley Community College, and I didn't have too long a wait ~ in fact, I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. I'm just amazed how much the previous owner left behind, and how old some cans were, as indicated by the rust.
I'm just hoping we got them all out.
Gotta take one pair shoes back to the store ~ they're still a little tight.
Only 10 more days to go...
Twins?

I caught Blackie and Foxie looking out the window at a squirrel ~ of course, I knew which was which, but what amazed me is how wider Foxie has become! Blackie still remains skinny as ever, like Sweetie...
hummm...
Finally...

Jens and I got our cruise packets!
Now I can relax and watch Jens do all the worrying... just joking, honey.
Yellow Cat
Yellow Cat was put to sleep yesterday. I just feel numb ~ I know she had a lot of health problems and very advanced in age. I can't believe she's gone, though. It's not going to be the same walking in the door and not seeing and loving a very sleepy, skinny and grey~yellow (almost white all over) cat on the sofa.
Yellow Cat, you had a rough start in life, and I am grateful that you had a long, happy life with my parents.
Goodbye, old friend.

John Henry, The Legend

John Henry
1975-2007
Blue Collar Hero
A True Champion
I got the news that John Henry was euthanized last night at 7 pm EST - it is the end of an era. He had been ill for a while, with dehydration and kidney problems due to the high heat and advanced age. John Henry was 32 years old.
I remember watching him in the Jockey Gold Cup - he was superlative.
Let me list his honors here:
Seven Eclipse Awards
Horse of the Year 1981 and 1984
Turf Male 1980, 1981, 1983, 1984
Top Older Male 1981
Inducted into the Hall of Fame 1990
Highest earning gelding of all time - $6,591,860
Race Record - 39 of 83 - 16 wins in grade I races.
Sired by Ole Bob Bowers, out of One Double by Double Jay.
John Henry will be buried in the Hall of Champions near his paddock at the Kentucky Horse Park, where he has lived at since 1985.
Strange...
My knee unlocked. I can straighten it out again. Sheesh. I hate
that.
Mizzou whipped Nebraska 41 to 6, wowza! Good game, good game!
Gonna take a short nap now...
Basement
The freakin basement is...FINALLY clean! Sure, there's some sorting and
some boxes to clean out, but that can be done later over the winter.
Whats important, is that the basement is clean and tidy.
Now ~ bad news. I did something to my LEFT knee and i can't straighten
it out fully. I took meds for it and pillows underneath to keep it bent
and comfortable. Just hope tomorrow it will be okay again.
Jens brought Sweetie upstairs so I could give her some attention, which
she just loved.
I'm currently catching up on some magazines ~ Curve, Giftmaker, Take
Ten, Cardmaker, Cloth Paper & Scissors, and People Style along with
Figure.
Also have started reading CHRISTINE by Stephen King. As for
RETRIBUTION, it was good reading again, but it's going to the donation
box for the book fair.
We've been watching the Mizzou play against Nebraska, and at half time
now, Mizzou is leading 20~6. :)
School Time
Finally... a grammar lesson made simple! ROFL!!!

Bloggers
In a very strange way, this does make sense.
Sometimes my thoughts are so random on my blog -
without any thought, structure or whatever.
Knee Pains
This is exactly how I feel at times about my right knee hurting
and the lefty not even sore at all... sheesh!!!
Another Book
I will be reading
RETRIBUTION by Jilliane Hoffman. This was a book that I wasn't sure about keeping and re-reading, so I will be reading it again. I will know more after today or tomorrow.
Mommy
I am VERY proud of my mother - she was featured in the Lifestyles section of the
St. Louis Post-Dispatch on Sunday, September 30, 2007.
